Crowdfunding A Cello

NXT4 celloI grew up playing the cello.  As an itinerant musician for most of my adult life, I haven’t physically had room for a cello until I had a kid and got an apartment and stopped touring all the time.  But they’re expensive, and since I had a kid I haven’t bought a musical instrument like that, because what money there is goes other places now.

I’ve crowdfunded many CD projects, and recently also a major car repair, but never a musical instrument.  But when I ask myself, self, when are you going to get a cello again, the answer is something like, maybe when the kids grow up, or when someone else buys one for me.  I don’t know a lot of people with an extra $1,500 lying around, though.

But I’m thinking that perhaps I know enough people who like the idea of hearing what I’d do with an electric cello, that they’d be willing to spend a few bucks in advance, in anticipation of the free music I’ll be putting up online later.

And maybe there are other possible enticements.  I’m open to suggestions!  Some of them are below, along with the “donate” button, and my mailing address.

The beautiful Czech cello I’m eventually going to buy one way or another is pictured to the right.  Here it is on Amazon if you want to read more about this particular electric instrument.
